Comprehensive tests of Dricon show that impregnation does not increase corrosion of the fasteners used. Among other things, Dricon meets the US MIL-19140 standard.
This is not always so easy to determine, but depending on their composition, substances such as ammonium phosphate, Iron(III) phosphate, urea and others may have negative corrosive effects on fasteners made of materials such as aluminium, copper, wrought-iron, brass and so on.
Corrosion is not only the breakdown of fasteners, it also refers to the breakdown of substances such as adhesives and the bonding agents used in veneers. There are several examples of tragic accidents in which plywood has quite simply separated over a period of time, giving way as a result of corrosion, moisture absorption and load application.
